Powering 8 of Top 10 Global AI Labs, Lithuania’s Latest Unicorn Launches Source Ecosystem Amid 4x Rise in Live Data Demand
Following its transition from Oxylabs group, the $3.6B Vilnius-born scale-up unites five specialized platforms under shared governance to provide compliant data infrastructure for the AI economy.
Following its formal introduction as Source, the web intelligence ecosystem previously known as Oxylabs group has aligned its multi-platform network to provide foundational public data infrastructure for the expanding artificial intelligence economy.
Now uniting platforms like Oxylabs, Decodo, Webshare, Honeygain, and ScrapingBee under a unified governance structure, the $3.6 billion ecosystem currently provides live data retrieval to eight of the world’s ten largest AI labs.
A Milestone for European Digital Capacity
The launch of the Source parent brand is an important milestone for European digital capacity and the Baltic tech ecosystem. Built on a decade of profitable, self-funded scaling from Lithuania before securing a $130 million investment led by Warburg Pincus earlier this year, Source companies collectively process more than 130 billion public-web requests daily across 180 countries.
“Lithuania proves that world-class, sovereign deep tech infrastructure powering the global AI economy can be built right here in Vilnius. With six unicorns and one of the fastest-growing tech ecosystems in Europe, our region is demonstrating that focus, capital efficiency, and engineering talent can create global category leaders. Source will continue anchoring its primary R&D and engineering hub at home while expanding its reach across the US, Europe, and Asia,” said Vytautas Savickas, CEO of Source.
Powering Live Data Retrieval for the Autonomous AI Age
The group’s operational alignment comes amid a transition in enterprise software: companies are shifting from passive conversational chatbots toward active, automated systems that browse, analyze, and act across external environments on behalf of users.
“We have seen data volume flowing through our infrastructure surge nearly fourfold over the past year. In the AI age, models cannot rely solely on static training datasets. Autonomous agents require real-time, zero-hallucination web grounding to make accurate decisions. Source companies are actively expanding our indexing capabilities. For instance, Oxylabs just introduced a new Web API for AI agents to ensure these systems have real-time, compliant, and reliable access to open web data,” said Savickas.
Decentralized Platform Autonomy, Unified Institutional Backing
A central component of the new structure is managing a diverse portfolio of specialized tools without slowing down engineering cycles or complicating client engagements across different market segments.
“Source provides strategic operational support, global compliance, and capital that allows each of the companies – from Oxylabs and Decodo to ScrapingBee, Webshare, and Honeygain – to focus entirely on the specific needs of their customers and product roadmaps. Our multi-company structure ensures that whether you are an independent developer or a Fortune 500 enterprise, you have a specialized, best-in-class solution backed by shared institutional stability,” said Julius Černiauskas, Chairman of the Board of Source.
The ecosystem’s technical development is supported by a global workforce of over 800 people across Europe, North America, and Asia, including more than 350 engineers and developers, backed by a proprietary intellectual property portfolio of over 180 patents and 215 trademarks.
